In from the Heat Program 2012

 

                                        A heat event will occur when the weather calls
                                            for 1 day with 40 or greater humidex.

 

Places to cool down:

 

City of Hamilton Cool Places

*       Recreation Centres

*       Splash Pads

*       Outdoor Pools (Hours extended starting at Heat Warning Stage 2)

*       Hamilton Beaches

*       Hamilton Public Libraries (Lynden and Rockton locations are not air conditioned)

*       Municipal Service Centres

*       City Hall -  71 Main Street West (Office hours:Mon to Fri, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm)

 

Community Partner Cool Places 

During a Heat Advisory Stage 1 the community partners listed below will provide an air conditioned place to cool off during regular business hours.

*       East Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton, 45 Ellis Avenue

*       Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre, 71 Rebecca Street

*       Roxborough Senior Centre, 785 Britannia Avenue

*       St. Matthew's Senior Centre, 402 Barton Street East 

*       Salvation Army - The Freeway, 333 King Street East

*       Salvation Army - Mountain Citadel, 835 Stone Church Road
